Literacy Resources | Submit Quarterly Report | Staff and Board

Tidewater Literacy Council depends upon the involvement of local community members. We will gladly provide training to potential volunteers. Volunteer opportunities include:

Tutoring
Teach basic literacy and readings skills to another adult; two hours per week, preservice training required.

Office Support
Tidewater Literacy does not have the funds to pay for support staff. We welcome volunteers to answer phones and provide other office support.

Become a Placement Advisor
Interview potential students and evaluate their current literacy needs. Training provided.

Support activities and events sponsored by Tidewater Literacy Council
Purchase a Cook Book
Walk in a Walk-a-Thon

Encourage others to be life-long learners.
